The Sangamon County Department of Public Health is seeking applicants to perform duties primarily for the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program.
Responsibilities: The successful candidate will perform a variety of duties for our clients including nutrition assessment and counseling; providing referrals; and promoting breastfeeding support and nutrition education. This position involves direct client contact and is performed in accordance with state and local agency WIC policies and procedures. The applicant must have the ability to communicate with diverse families, develop rapport and foster open communication. The applicant must have the ability to work 1 late day (7:00pm) per week. On rare occasions, in the event of a public health emergency, this position may be required to work evening and/or weekend clinics as assigned.
Requirements: Requires a current State of Illinois Registered Dietitian license or a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition Sciences, Dietetics, Community Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition, a valid Class D Illinois Driver's License, use of personal automobile and proof of auto insurance. Applicants must be a resident of Sangamon County or be willing to move into the County within 6 months of employment.
